Islas Eoleas : Son las islas que estan en el Sur de Italia, al norte de Sicilia...casi todas tienen un volcano, y algunos activos, muy activos, como el famoso Stromboli que visitamos el anio pasado con el barco Ranger...Esta un piedra que llame " el dedo de Neptuno", parecido a la de Cabo San Lucas....

Eolian Islands : These group of volcanic islands is in the South part of Italy, north of Sicily.
Some of these islands ahve active volcanoes - such as the famous Stromboli, that we visited last year with the Ranger boat.
Check out this "Neptune finger" rock....pretty amazing no ??

After Alaska, I returned to the bright sun of the Mediterranean Sea....Straight to Athens, where the boat was moored : We had an extra day so I decided to visit the Acropolis...and be there early to avoid the crowds....=)

Regresando de Alaska, estuve en Grecia, para encontrar el barco expedicion de Oceana...Tuve la oportunidad de visitar el Acropolis en Aenas , el primer dia y a pesar de ir muy temprano en la manana, es dificil de evitar las muchedumbres...=)

Mire el color del agua del Mediterraneo : Absolutamente perfecto !! (que lastima que este vacio este mar !!)

Fishing - Alaska Style !!

Otra manera de pescar en Alaska : Porque no tratar de sacar salmones con las manos ?? (tipo oso !!)....pues lo intente y casi saco un par de salmones...la tecnica comprobada es meterse al rio hasta la cintura, y meter las dos manos al agua helada y esperar que se acercquen los salmones...luego una vez que sientes su cuerpo, seguir hasta llegar a las branquias y meter los pulgares rapido adentro para poder sacar el bicho !!! Funciona porque he visto chavos,locales que lo hicieron enfrente de mi pero no pude sacar a ningun salmon...El agua debia de estar a unos grados Centigrados, tenia los dedos helados, todo el cuerpo mojado pero la adrenalina es mas fuerte !!! Despues de 20 minutos, se acerco un oso a ver que estaba haciendo !! Increible ! Super tranquilo, se alejo para esperar su turno !! e yo no tarde para dejarle su lugar el Senor oso !!

Another fishing technique in Alaska : Fishing with your bare hands in the river (Grizzly style !) : We are always learning something new =)....So you have to get in the middle of a creek and put your hand sin the near freezing water and wait for the salmons to get close to you...When you feel a fish, you have to put your hands on him, follow his body all the way to his gills and there, snap your two thumbs in his gills, very quick....Unbelievable !!I saw some local kids do it in front of me, but I was unable to get one salmon out of the water....but it is sooo much fun, despite the freezing water, then all your body gets wet and your hands feel numb...after 20 minutes a glacier bear got close and came to check out what I was doing ! Super calm, he watched me for a moment and left in order to wait for his turn...I did not wait long before leaving Mister Bear playground and fish market !! = )
